Mission

United States Artists believes in artists and their essential role in society. Our programs make visible the importance of unfettered resources for artists, while simultaneously providing a platform for awardees and their work. Since 2006, USA has awarded nearly 1000 artists and cultural practitioners with over $41 million in direct funding through the signature United States Artists Fellowship program; provided an additional $8.6 million to over 120 artists through Initiatives; and worked to improve conditions for artists across America through research, communications, and policy work.
