“That others may live”. K9 Alert provides an operational K9 Search and Rescue capability, at no cost, to requesting agencies (Law Enforcement, State/National Parks) 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Operating under a Memorandum of Understanding with Virginia’s Department of Emergency Management, our K9 teams are ready to deploy in a moment’s notice. In 2023, K9 Alert members responded to 70 incidents, traveled 26,048 miles, and spent 1269 hours looking for missing subjects across the Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition, they participated in 120 training exercises, logged 111,311 miles, and spent 5747 hours in the field. They also presented 30 outreach/educational programs.
